Number of multi-millionaires goes up in Romania

The number of Romanians with net assets over USD 5 million went up by 13% last year, reaching 3,720 people, according to Knight Frank’s Wealth Report. In the last five years (2012-2017), the number of rich Romanians went up by 27%, from 2.930. Over the next five years, the number of individuals with assets over USD 5 million should go up by 51%, to 5,630, according to Knight Frank estimates. The number of Romanians with assets over USD 50 million also increased by about 14% last year, to 240, and should reach 360 by 2022, the same report shows. Worldwide, the number of multi-millionaires, with assets over USD 5 million, went up by 20% from 2012 until 2017, to 2.53 million, and should go up by 43% in the next five years, to 3.62 million, the report shows.
