How much do Romanians spend on alcohol?

Romanians spent on average EUR 1.6 per month on alcohol last year, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS). Beer was the most popular drink. People consumed on average 0.2 liters of wine, 1.1 liters of beer, and 0.037 liters of spirits per month. Employees consumed on average 1.6 liters of alcohol per month, followed by the pensioners, with 1.4 liters. The unemployed drank on average 1.1 liters of alcohol per month. The average consumption of non-alcoholic beverages and mineral water amounted to 4.2 liters per month last year. editor@romania-insider.com
