More new cars registered in Romania

The number of new vehicles registered in Romania increased by over 25% year-on-year in September, to 8,146 units, according to data from the Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration DRPCIV. Of this number, over 5,500 units were cars, an increase of 23.8% compared to September 2013. In terms of Romanians’ favourite brands, Dacia remains the leader with 1,445 new cars registered in September, down 4.2% year-on-year, followed by Volkswagen – 820 units, Skoda – 550 units and Ford – 487 units. In the first nine months, the number of new vehicles registered in Romania also increased by over a quarter compared to the same period the previous year, to 51,564 units.
