MOL Romania invests EUR 6.1 mln in seven new gas stations

Fuel distribution company MOL Romania has invested over EUR 6.1 million to open seven new service stations, extending its country-wide presence to 154 units. The new stations are located in the counties Constanta, Ilfov, Suceava, Timiș, Hunedoara, Iași and Bihor. “We are committed to continuing our investment policy while considering market opportunities, […],” said Kinga Daradics, MOL Romania CEO & Country Chairman. Since the beginning of this year, Mol has opened 11 new units. The company also took over the Agip network from Italian group Eni, in May, adding 42 new units to its network. The finalization of the transaction is subject to approval by the Competition Council. Including Agip, MOL’s network will reach 196 service stations. MOL Romania had a turnover of EUR 979 million in 2013, up 5.1 percent on the previous year, while its profit stood at EUR 20.3 million. Andrei Chirileasa, andrei@romania-insider.com
