MOL plans to open charging stations for electric cars in Romania

Hungarian oil group MOL plans to develop a network of charging stations for electric cars, including in Romania, said Zsolt Pethõ, MOL senior vice-president at a press conference in Bucharest. Getting an electric car will be more reasonable in three years, whereas in ten years it will be a natural choice for consumers, he added, reports local Economica.net. MOL will implement charging stations for electric cars in its fuel stations, the group representative said, but he didn’t mention when this will happen. The company currently owns such charging stations in Hungary and the Czech Republic. “We are now in the process of gathering and analyzing data, there are several kinds of batteries and chargers,” he explained. “We wish to have solutions tailored to the local market.” MOL is one of the top four fuel distributors in Romania. The group has a local network of over 200 fuel stations and sales of some EUR 1 billion. It will invest some EUR 10-15 million, in 2017, in developing its local network. editor@romania-insider.com
