Mobile generates over half of the traffic for Romania's biggest online retailer

Over 55% of the 270 million visits registered in 2016 on the website of the biggest online retailer in Romania – eMAG came from mobile devices, the company announced. The mobile visits thus increased 2.2 times compared to 2015, to 151 million, while the desktop visits went up by 23%, to 119 million. The eMAG app generated 41 million visits to the retailer’s platform last year, up by 175% compared to 2015. The share of orders from mobile devices also grew significantly in 2016, reaching 33% of the total, up from 27% in 2015. Over 65% of the clients who placed orders from mobile devices on the eMAG platform are men and over 60% are people aged under 35. The most ordered products on the mobile are child and baby products, home decoration products, cosmetics, small appliances, and big appliances. editor@romania-insider.com
