Minister: Romanian Government will adopt prevention law this week

Romania’s Government will adopt the prevention law in its Thursday meeting and will send it to the Parliament for emergency approval, the minister for the business environment Alexandru Petrescu posted on his Facebook page yesterday. The new prevention law, which is currently in a draft form, cancels the initial fine in the case of hundreds of contraventions, replacing it with a warning. In the first stage, authorities will apply a written warning, and financial sanctions will be applied only in the second stage if the company doesn’t comply with the initial recommendations, according to the draft bill. Companies have maximum three months to remedy the problem discovered by inspectors. The offender will benefit from prevention only once within the three years after the control institutions gave the warning. editor@romania-insider.com
