Minister: Romania to reach 80% EU fund absorption rate

Romania will achieve at least an 80% EU fund absorption rate for the financing period 2007 to 2013, so it will avoid losing EU funds because of a too low absorption rate. This year, Romania will exceed 50% absorption rate, and next year, it will at least reach 80% of what was allowed between 2007 and 2013, which is EUR 19.3 billion, said Eugen Teodorovici, the EU Funds Minister. Romania will actually be one of the first EU states to send financing requests from the very first year of the next financing period – the first such requests should already be sent in October and November this year. editor@romania-insider.com
