Retailer Mega Image closes down its frozen food concept shop in Bucharest

Mega Image, one of the biggest local supermarket chains, has closed down its frozen food shop concept AB Cool Food, located in Bucharest, on Ion Mihalache Boulevard. Mega Image, which is part of Belgian group Delhaize, opened this concept shop in September 2013. It only sold frozen products. The retailer announced the opening of four new shops under the Mega Image and Shop&Go brands, in Bucharest and Ilfov county, on April 27 and 28 One of the Shop&Go units will replace the AB Cool Food shop, according to an official announcement. Mega Image will thus reach 472 units, more than half of which (254) are Shop&Go proximity stores. The company also has 214 supermarkets under the Mega Image brand, the biggest of which was opened last year in Baneasa, and 2 Gusturi Romanesti shops, which sell mostly Romanian products.
