Medsana to invest EUR 15 mln in new Bucharest hospital

Private healthcare operator Medsana, owned by the Greek group Athens Medical Center(AMC), will start the construction of a hospital in Northern Bucharest this year. The investment will amount to EUR 15 million and the hospital could be completed in two and a half years, said yesterday the Medsana general director Vassilis Chaniotis, reports local News.ro. He added that the group will invest another EUR 2.5 million this year in opening two new medical centers in Bucharest. “This year we’ll start a greenfield investment for a hospital. (...) We’ll invest, we’ll buy land. It will take about two and a half years, but it will be the most modern private hospital in Romania.” He also said that the new hospital will focus on robotic surgery. Medsana owns four clinics in Romania, three of which are in Bucharest and one is in Ploiesti.
