MedLife expects EUR 4 mln turnover from newly opened pediatric hospital in Bucharest

Private healthcare operator MedLife has recently opened a pediatric hospital in Bucharest, following an investment of EUR 13.5 million. The new hospital, on 5,200 sqm, has a total capacity of 132 beds and can cater to around 400 patients a month. It is close to the Aurel Vialcu metro station, in the Chinese Embassy area. The hospital includes an imaginery department, ambulatory, surgery rooms, pharmacy and rooms with two or three beds. MedLife expects the hospital to generate a turnover of EUR 4 million by the end of this year. The operator will open two more hospital this year, reaching a number of five such units, with a total capacity of 450 beds. It currently runs two hospitals in Bucharest and Brasov. MedLife is owned by the Marcu family, with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) being a minority shareholder, with 12.7 percent of the shares and SGAM Eastern Europe investment fund, with 36.25 percent of the shares. editor@romania-insider.com
