Media: Mega Image in talks to take over Angst from Romanian owner

Belgian retail chain Mega Image, which runs over 300 stores in Romania, is currently in talks with Romanian entrepreneur Sorin Minea and the Angst family in Switzerland to take over the 22 Angst stores in Romania, according to market sources, quoted by Ziarul Financiar. Negotiations come after Angst cancelled the franchise contract with Carrefour. Sorin Minea however denies a sale, saying he will announce when a contract will be signed, according to Romanian media. Mega Image has taken over local chains before, such as Luca and Gulliver. Angst had a turnover of EUR 37 million in 2013, while Mega Image, over EUR 500 million.
