Marfin Bank Romania posted a net profit of EUR 7.6 million last year, an increase of 74 percent compared to 2009 (according to IFRS standards). The increase was triggered by an increase in revenues and by a drop in provisions. The bank hopes to achieve a double-digit growth for Romania this year. Based on the Romanian accounting standards, the bank made a profit of EUR 3.5 million last year, after a EUR 17.5 million loss in 2009, according to the bank's general manager Doros Ktorides, quoted by Mediafax newswire. Marfin Romania had assets of EUR 601 million at the end of last year, up 18.5 percent on 2009. editor@romania-insider.com
