Management of Romanian healthcare operator MedLife asks for wages of EUR 5,000 per month

The Board of Directors of the biggest Romanian private healthcare operator, MedLife, has asked for monthly wages of EUR 5,000 for the company’s managers and EUR 7,000 for the Chairman of the Board, Romanian entrepreneur Mihail Marcu. The proposal will be discussed by the General Shareholders’ Meeting that is due on April 27. The company’s budget for this year will also be approved then. MedLife recorded an operating income of RON 508.45 million (EUR 111.7 million) in 2016, up 28.6% over the previous year, while the operating profit amounted to RON 19.13 million (EUR 4.2 million) compared to RON 28.99 million (EUR 6.3 million) in 2015. The net result was a loss of RON 1.66 million (EUR 364,000), compared to a profit of RON 9.9 million (EUR 2.1 million) in 2015. MedLife listed its shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in December last year. editor@romania-insider.com
