Ludwik Sobolewski remains at the helm of the Bucharest Stock Exchange

Ludwik Sobolewski remains the head of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), although his general manager mandate expired on August 21. The institution announced yesterday that the details of the mandate will be determined later. The meeting of the Board of Directors from August 18 didn’t have the necessary quorum to make a decision on prolonging Sobolewki’s term. "The terms and conditions for the execution of the mandate will be defined, or another decision will be taken by the Board of the Bourse in this respect,” according to a BVB press release. However, later on the same day, BVB announced that Sobolewski decided not to exercise his mandate until the unusual legal situation is clarified. Ludwik Sobolewski took over as CEO of Bucharest Stock Exchange in August 2013. He made it his mission to promote BVB into the emerging capital markets category. Before coming to Romania, Sobolewski was President and CEO of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) between 2006 and 2013. editor@romania-insider.com
