Life insurer Aegon Romania has estimated a 20% increase in written premiums for this year compared to 2014, thanks to the 10% increase in new policy sales and the development of a new bancassurance partnership. Last year, the company’s subscriptions rose by 50% to EUR 11.2 million after Aegon took over Eureko Romania’s policy portfolio, some 20,000 contracts. Without this acquisition, the increase in Aegon Romania’s premiums would have stayed between 10% and 15%, company representatives said, cited by local Ziarul Financiar. The company ranked ninth among life insurers last year, with a market share of over 3%. editor@romania-insider.com
