Largest energy producer Hidroelectrica to invest EUR 85 mln this year

State-owned energy producer Hidroelectrica, currently insolvent, wants to make investments worth EUR 85 million this year, mainly in new equipment and in ‘historic’ projects. Most of the amount will be fuelled by the company’s own coffers, while the rest will come via bank loans, according to its judiciary administrator. Hidroelectrica became insolvent in June 2012, then exited insolvency a year after, only to re-become insolvent in February this year. The state hopes for the company to exit insolvency again by the end of this year.
