First lacustrine resort in Romania opens end-July

The first lacustrine resort in Romania is set to open at the end of July, according to local media. The project, developed by a local investor, is located in Berzasca, Caras-Severin county, in south-western Romania. The investment amounted to over EUR 600,000, almost EUR 200,000 of which were EU funds, said Sorin Liubimirescu, project manager. The project currently consists of 15 bungalows built on pillars over the Danube, which feature each a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom. All the houses have a terrace overlooking the Serbian side, where people can sunbathe, fish or just relax. The project also includes a swimming pool and parking for 40 cars. “It is only the first phase of the project: 15 bungalows, the swimming pool, and the reception. We’ll also have a restaurant that will be ready next year. There will be another 15 similar bungalows, but we are waiting for an investor who wants to build here,” Liubimirescu said.
