Kronospan invests EUR 10 mln in production line at Romanian factory

Austrian group Kronospan, one of the biggest timber processors in Romania, has finalized a EUR 10 million investment at its plant in Sebes, Alba county. The company has started operating a new wood lamination unit that is completely automatized. “The Kronospan factory in Sebes has the highest production capacity in the world and one in four furniture pieces in Europe is made using elements made by Kronospan,” according to the company’s press release. With this new investment, Kronospan will also start to convert its production to low emission wooden panels. The company’s representatives say that it will only produce ecological panels. Kronospan owns two factories in Romania, in Sebes and Brasov, with some 800 employees. The group has invested about EUR 600 million in Romania in the last 19 years. editor@romania-insider.com
