Investments in the Romanian economy dropped in the first quarter of the year by 29 percent compared to the same period of last year, to around RON 9.37 billion (the equivalent of EUR 2.2 billion), according to the National Statistics Institute. The bulk of investments went to industry, trade and services. Industry got 36 percent of investments, while trade and services, 34.5 percent. Constructions got only 17.7 percent of the investments and agriculture, a mere 10 percent.
