A new wing of the Foisor Orthopedics Hospital in Bucharest was inaugurated yesterday, following a total investment of EUR 49 million. The new unit, which has six floors, will become operational in a month and a half. It covers 9,000 sqm and includes eight surgery rooms, a kinetotherapy room, a bed washer and a video monitoring system for intensive care patients, with cameras mounted above each bed. The local authorities will start renovating the hospital’s old building in March next year, with a EUR 10 million investment, Bucharest mayor Gabriela Firea said yesterday. They will also build a 3-storey underground car park. The construction of the new wing was worth EUR 37 million. Another EUR 11.4 million was invested in equipment, the mayor explained. editor@romania-insider.com (photo source: Gabriela Firea on Facebook)
