American car parts manufacturer opens new factory in western Romania

American car parts manufacturer Inteva Products will expand its production facilities in Romania by opening a new manufacturing plant in Oradea, in western Romania, the company recently announced. The site will manufacture roof system components to serve the group’s European customer base. The factory is located on the site of a former hypermarket and will employ about 200 people, according to Romanian media. “Our new site in Oradea will nearly double our manufacturing presence in Romania,” said Lon Offenbacher, Inteva Products CEO and President. Inteva currently operates a factory in Salonta, 40 kilometers away from Oradea, which has about 300 employees. The factory had a turnover of about EUR 5.4 million, in 2013. Inteva provides closure systems, interior systems, motors and electronics, and roof systems to global car manufacturers such as BMW, Renault and Kia. It employs more than 12,500 people in 18 countries.
