Insurer Eureko grows premiums by 9.6% in first half of 2011 in Romania

Insurer Eureko recorded gross written premiums of EUR 5.21 million (RON 21.8 million) in the first six months of 2011, up by 9.6 percent compared to same period in 2010, according to the company. The result was supported by the gross written premiums for health insurance, that registered an annual advance of 34 percent, which gives the company an estimated market share of 40 percent in this segment. The gross written premiums for life insurance reached a level of EUR 3.67 million (RON 15.35 million), up slightly from the first six months of 2010. Eureko Group, established in 1992 in Netherlands, is present in Romania through Eureko Insurance (Asigurari), and Eureko Company for Private Pension Funds Management.
