Indie-rock band British Sea Power, for the first time in Romania this summer

The indie-rock band British Sea Power will perform for the first time in Romania on June 8 in in Silver Church Club (61, Calea Plevnei St.) in the capital city, Bucharest. Established in Brighton in 2000, British Sea Power now has six members who have released five successful albums, hold a prestigious Mercury Music Prize nomination in 2008 and numerous appearances on TV in U.S. and UK. The band's unique sound covers a wide range of influences, going through the '70s punk and British rock of recent years, which has led critics to compare them with a variety of bands like The Cure, Joy Division, The Pixies and Arcade Fire. British Sea Power played at most major music festivals in the UK like Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, T in the Park and B'estival. This summer the band will also play on the Latitude Festival, Get Loaded in the Park, Port Eliot Festival and in the opening for the Flaming Lips at Jodrell Bank Observatory. British Sea Power also opened concerts for bands like Pulp, Interpol, The Strokes, The Killers and Manic Street Preachers. More about the band.
