German group Harting invests EUR 5.5 mln in Sibiu plant

German group HARTING Technology, one of the world leaders in the production of industrial connectors, has invested EUR 5.5 million in expanding and refurbishing its production unit in Sibiu. The factory’s surface went up from 5,000 sqm to 12,000 sqm, according to a press release issued by the German group. “Expanding the production in Sibiu and the construction of the new building reflect the exceptional growth levels,” said Philip Harting, the head of the German group. HARTING Romania is the largest factory owned by the group outside Germany. The company has an annual turnover of over EUR 35 million and about 600 employees. The number of employees is expected to grow by 100 until 2019. HARTING Romania started its activity in 2003 in the automotive assembly sector and the production of industrial connectors. In 2007, it opened a new plant in the West Industrial Park of Sibiu. editor@romania-insider.com
