Gazprom cuts gas supplies to Romania by about 30%

Russia's Gazprom has cut the gas supplies to Romania by 30%, but the Energy Minister Andrei Gerea said that there are no problems in covering local gas consumption and that the reduction falls into the contractual provisions. "Such a decrease represents an average of the last few months when we constantly had decreases compared to the requested quantities, by around 20-30%. There have been similar reductions of 27%, 24%, 15% or 10%," said Gerea, quoted by Agerpres newswire. This is not of special concern and does not affect the consumers, he added.
