The gas price for population could increase by 6-7% starting July 1, following discussions between Romania's energy authority (ANRE) and representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Commission, said ANRE president Niculae Havrilet, cited by local Agerpres. Starting July 1, the Government needs to set prices for the next stages of the gas price liberalization. ANRE will draw up a new timetable to update the 2011 forecasts. Romania has to finalize the gas price liberalization by end-2018, as agreed with the European Commission. editor@romania-insider.com
