The four biggest business sectors in Romania reach 3.92 mln employees

The total number of enterprises active in industry, trade, services, and construction, the four biggest sectors in the local economy, went up by 1% last year compared to 2014, reaching over 488,210. The number of employees rose by 2.4% to over 3.9 million, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS). At the end of 2015 the industry sector had over 54,000 companies, namely 11.1% of the total number of companies. The companies active in the industry sector accounted for 35.5% of the average number of employees active in Romania’s economy, followed by the ones in services (33.9%). editor@romania-insider.com
