Car maker Ford will halt production for a week in September at its car factory in Romania, where it has been producing the B-Max model for a year. Last fall, the company lowered production from 550 to 250 cars a day, to later up it to 365 cars a day, according to daily Ziarul Financiar. During the 7 days of technical unemployment, the employees at the Ford Vehicle Operations section will receive 80 percent of their salary. The measure is a reaction to the poor situation of the European car market, which has been witnessing sales declines. In the first seven months of this year, Ford produced over 50,000 cars at its factory in Craiova, Romania. The B-Max model sold 38,000 units in the first half of the year in Europe, becoming the best sold monovolume car.
