Food, beverage and tobacco sales, up by 11.4% in July

Sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 11.4% in July this year compared to the same month of 2013. Sales of non-food products increased by 8.7% compared to July 2013, while fuel retail sales decreased by 3%, according to data released by Romania’s statistics institute INS. Total retail sales increased by 6.3% in July compared to the same month of 2013. In the first seven months, retail trade turnover was up by 8.2%, with food, beverages and tobacco sales showing a similar 8.2% increase and non-food sales showing 12% growth. Fuel retail turnover increased by just 1.7%. editor@romania-insider.com
