ExxonMobil launches EUR 1 bln auction for Black Sea gas operation

US group ExxonMobil has launched an auction of over EUR 1 billion in Romania’s electronic public procurement system (SEAP) for several contracts related to its Black Sea gas exploitation, reports local Hotnews.ro. ExxonMobil and Romanian group OMV Petrom jointly operate a perimeter in the Black Sea where they found significant gas reserves. The two companies have been assessing the resources found and may start commercial exploitation in the next years. ExxonMobil is ready to pay between USD 975 million and USD 1.28 billion, without VAT, to acquire management and design services and to put into operation the offshore units in the Neptun perimeter. It also wants to put into operation an onshore gas measuring station. The offshore equipment includes a gas pipeline system, a fiber optic cable system, a low water platform, installations for the production of natural gas in the Domino perimeter and installations for the Pelican perimeter. The company published the auction notice on November 9 and the deadline is December 12. The contract has a 48-month duration. editor@romania-insider.com
