EBRD will lend EUR 300 mln for new subway line in Romania's capital

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has made its final decision on allotting a EUR 300 million financing for the new subway line that will connect Romania’s capital Bucharest to the Henri Coanda International Airport in Otopeni. Romania’s transport minister Felix Stroe made the announcement on Monday, January 15. “Today, the EBRD representatives gave us a very good news: they decided in London to allocate EUR 300 million for the M6 subway line,” Stroe said. At the end of December 2017, the European Commission accepted Romania’s financing request for the M6 subway line, a EUR 1.39 billion project. The line will connect Bucharest’s main train station (Gara de Nord) with the Otopeni airport. It will have a total length of 14.2 kilometers and 12 stops.
