Dedeman to open store in Alba Iulia, Romania, with EUR 11 mln

Romanian do-it-yourself retailer Dedeman will open a store on October 14 in the Romanian city of Alba Iulia, with an investment of EUR 11 million, according to the company. The new store has an area of 11,800 sqm, 176 employees and 228 parking places. The retailer will also open a store in Tulcea, and the pace of opening 4 to 5 units per year will be maintained in the future, because Dedeman plans to open 45 units in Romania by 2015, according to the company. The new unit in Alba Iulia is Dedeman's 25th store opened on the local market. Dedeman, owned by Romanians Adrian and Dragos Paval, is based in the city of Bacau. The retailer has about 4,700 employees.

Dedeman is active on a market which is shared by retailers like Praktiker, Bricostore, Mr. Bricolage, Hornbach, OBI, BauMax, among others.
