Coface: Only 260 companies in Romania have sales of over EUR 100 mln

Only 260 companies in Romania managed to record sales above EUR 100 million in 2015 whereas only 3,100 firms had sales of over EUR 10 million, according to an analysis of the financial consultancy firm Coface. Some 590,000 companies submitted their financial reports for 2015, but 140,000 had no activity at all and 332,000 companies had a turnover of up to EUR 100,000, reports local Ziarul Financiar. As a share, this type of companies accounted for more than a half of the total number of Romanian businesses. However, their contribution to the total turnover amounted to only 3%, namely an annual turnover of EUR 8.3 billion, according to the Coface data.
