Carmaker Ford grows revenues four fold in Romania but still posts loss

Carmaker Ford, so far the biggest foreign investor in Romania, posted revenues of around EUR 205 million in the country last year, but continued to have a loss, Romania-Insider.com has learned. Last year, Ford Romania SA posted a loss of EUR 65.5 million in Romania, similarly to the year before, when its revenues were however four times lower. Ford, with 3,400 employees and a factory in Craiova, entered the Romanian market in 2007, when it bought the car factory in Craiova in a privatization process. Ford representatives say the company has invested EUR 350 million in Craiova since they took over. Carmaker Ford will start the mass production for the B-MAX model in its factory in Romania in the first half of 2012, it has previously announced. editor@romania-insider.com (photo source: Ford)
