Builders selected for important highway in Romania

Romania's National Company for Highways (CNADNR) has selected the companies that will build the Campia Turzii- Ogra-Targu Mures highway. Four joint ventures, Strabag- Straco Grup, Straco Grup- Specialist Consulting-Total Road, Lemacons-Vega 93-Arcada Company and Geiger Transilvania-Wilhekm Geige will build the 56.5 km highway, worth EUR 268.4 million, reports local Ziarul Financiar. The joint venture of Austrian group Strabag and Romanian Straco Grup will build the first two sections.

Straco Grup will also build together with Specialist Consulting and Total Road a third section.

The joint venture of Lemacons, Vega 93 and Arcada Company will be responsible for the Targu Mures- Ungheni section.

Geiger Transilvania and Wilhelm Geiger will build the Ogra- Campia Turzii section.

The winners were selected following a public auction, and non-reimbursable European funds will finance the projects. editor@romania-insider.com
