The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) group recorded a net profit of RON 7.87 million (EUR 1.7 million) last year, up 19% over the previous year, the market operator announced yesterday. The group’s consolidated revenues also went up by 4%, to RON 31.9 million (EUR 7.1 million) while the operating profit increased by 90%, to RON 6.07 million (EUR 1.35 million). The BVB group includes the Bucharest Stock Exchange and the Central Depository, which provides post-trading and registry services. BVB Group’s trading segment was responsible of 85% of the profit in 2016. The share trading value increased by 6% in 2016, reaching RON 9.47 billion (EUR 2.1 billion). The Bucharest Stock Exchange is a listed company. Its main shareholders are local banks, investment funds, and brokerage firms.
