BRD to distribute EUR 29 mln of dividends for 2010 in Romania, pending shareholders' OK

Lender BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD) will distribute EUR 29.6 million (RON 125 million) of gross dividends for 2010 in Romania. The bank will offer a gross dividend of RON 0.18 per share, below the value of the dividend for 2009, which was of RON 0.28 per share, according to a statement sent to the Bucharest Stock exchange, where its shares are listed. The bank's shareholders will meet on April 14 to approve the proposed value of the dividend. BRD – Groupe Societe Generale posted a net profit of EUR 119 million last year, a drop of 36 percent on 2009. The bank has 2.5 million clients in Romania and a network of 937 units in the country.
