AXN campaign addresses one of Romania’s major environmental issues: deforestation

One of Romania’s most important issues, deforestation, is among the issues to be addressed in an international campaign conducted by AXN, which focuses on problems that have a negative impact on the environment. Sony Pictures Television Networks, AXN's owner, launched on Monday a social responsibility campaign in 177 countries, Romania included. The project named Picture this will use televisions within the Sony Pictures Television network to tell stories, and to engage viewers in solving important environmental issues on those markets. “With the help of the network’s global influence and the passion for stories, our televisions will involve communities and mobilize people to take action, imagining how you can create a better world, "said Andy Kaplan, president of Sony Pictures Television (SPT), cited by Axn.ro. Picture this will include on-air and online elements, events, and opportunities to engage viewers. Some of the topics will include recycling in Russia and Italy, eliminating the use of plastic bags in Asia, waste disposal in India, saving rhinos in South Africa, urban horticulture in Latin America, and deforestation in Romania. AXN, Sony Channel, Sony One, AXN Black, AXN White, Sony PIX HD, Sony SIX HD, AXN Sci-Fi, AXN Mystery, Animax, Sony Sci-Fi, Sony Movie Channel, Canal Sony, Crackle, SET, Turbo, getTV, and CineSony are the televisions involved in this project, reports local Mediafax.
