Average pension goes up by 4.8% in Romania

The average monthly pension in Romania went up by 4.8% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2014 to EUR 189, and up by 0.1% over the second quarter of 2014, according to the National Institute of Statistics. In the third quarter of this year, the average number of pensioners decreased by 63,000 year-on-year to 5.35 million, and by 7,000 people compared to the second quarter of 2014. Social insurance pensioners have the largest share (99.9%) in the total number of pensioners, 87.6% of which represent state social insurance pensioners. editor@romania-insider.com
