Average net salary up 1.9% in July in Romania

The average net salary in Romania was of RON 1,719 (EUR 390) in July, up by RON 32 or 1.9% month-on-month, according to data from the National Statistics Institute. The average gross nominal salary was RON 2,378 (EUR 540) in July, up 1.9% from June. In July compared to June, the most significant increases in the average net earnings have been recorded as follows: 10.9% in the production of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, namely by 9% in activities auxiliary to financial intermediation; between 6% and 8% in the production of motors vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, production and supply of electricity, gas, hot water and air conditioning, coal extraction and collection, purification and distribution water; between 4% and 6% in cinema production, video and television programs, sound recording and music publishing activities, manufacturing of the other means of transportation, clothing, metallurgy, agriculture, hunting and related services.
