Average household monthly revenues in Romania, up by 7.4% in 2015

Romanian households recorded average monthly revenues of RON 2,687 (EUR 604) in 2015, up by 7.4% compared to the previous year. The average monthly revenue per household member was RON 1,011 (EUR 227), up almost 8% year-on-year, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS) data. Some 88% of the local households’ revenues were cash and the remaining 12% were in kind, mostly own consumption. Salaries represented 55.7% of the whole household revenues, 2.9% were revenues from agriculture, 2.4% were revenues from independent activities, and 23.9% came from social benefits, such as pensions, unemployment benefit, child allowances, and others. editor@romania-insider.com
