Autoliv Romania opens engineering center in Iasi with 200 employees

Autoliv Romania, one of the largest employers in the local car parts industry, with 11,000 people, will open an engineering center in Iasi in the second half of this year. The center will be hosted by the United Business Center buildings, which are part of the Palas Iasi real estate project, owned by the investor Iulian Dascalu, reports local Ziarul Financiar. Autoliv estimates that the center will hire over 200 engineers in the next three years. Autoliv Romania, which is the local subsidiary of the Swedish group Autoliv, has an engineering center in Timisoara, which hires more than 450 engineers. They develop and test automotive safety systems. “The accelerated growth in Timisoara in the last two years will now be supported by the new center in Iasi,” said Ionel Fierbinteanu, Autoliv Romania country manager. Autoliv currently has factories in Brasov, Lugoj, Sfantu Gheorghe, Resita, and Onesti, as well as engineering and development centers in Brasov and Timisoara. The company ranked eighth among Romania’s largest exporters in 2016, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INS). editor@romania-insider.com
