Astaldi, FCC, Delta AC, AB Construct get metro sector contract in Bucharest

Romanian state-run subway company Metrorex has awarded a EUR 215 million construction contract for the Raul Doamnei-Hasdeu sector of Bucharest’s new subway mainline to a consortium made up of Astaldi (Italy), FCC (Spain), Delta ACM and AB Construct (Romania). People close to the matter told Mediafax newswire that Greek construction company Aktor, which had made a RON 1.009 billion (EUR 237 million) offer, contested the auction. According to Astaldi, construction work might start in the second half of the year. Turkish-Russian-Italian consortium Dogus-Gulermak-Moscovskii-Metrostroi-Salini submitted a bid of 1.076 billion lei (EUR 253 million), VAT excluded, and Austrian-Romanian consortium Strabag/Straco Grup made a RON 1.94 billion offer (EUR 456 million).
