Asian Dub Foundation, the new confirmed name for Romania's B’estfest 2011

After Skunk Anansie and Pendulum, Asian Dub Foundation is the new name confirmed for the B’estfest festival in Romania this year. In rhythms of dub, dancehall and electronic ragga-jungle, the band will perform in the second day of the festival, on July 2. ONe day tickets for the concert cost RON 95 until March 22. With a distinctive electronic style and an approach to dub, rapcore, hard dancehall and ragga-jungle combined with searing guitar, ethnic sounds of vinyl records and influential punk-rock parents, Asian Dub Foundation is one the most famous band of its kind in Europe. Asian Dub Foundation appeared in 1993 in London where Dr. Das, a professor of music production and DJ Pandit G, promoter of civil rights, teamed up with Deeder Zaman, forming the band that would soon become one of the biggest names on the UK dub scene. After the release of six studio materials and various rarities and remixes, Asian Dub Foundation returned this year with a new album, “A History of Now”, which introduces new sounds and instruments in the band’s compositions. The current members of the band are Chandrasonic, Sun-J, Pandit G, Prithpal Rajput (aka Cyber), Aktarv8r, Martin Savale, Al Rumjen and Aktar Ahmed. Listen to one of their songs below. The B'estfest music festival will be organized in a new location this year, north of Bucharest, 10 minutes away from the Free Press Square, in the Pipera – Tunari area, where the B’Estfest camp will be set up. A 10-hectare area will host the camp, which will also include an area for tents. During March 1-22, tickets can be bought at two prices, depending on the type of acces that offers: RON 95 tickets for a day, RON 215 for three-day ticket. For acces to the camping area, a voucher can also be bought for RON 10. After March 22, tickets prices will be: RON 125 a day ticket, RON 265 3-day subscription and RON 15 for camping vouchers. Starting July 1, the first day of B’estfest, tickets can be purchased daily from the festival entrance at the price of RON 150, while 3-day subscriptions will be available only on the first day at a price of RON 285, plus the camping voucher for RON 15.
