Antibiotice Iasi makes EUR 4.9 mln profit in nine months

Romanian state-owned drug producer Antibiotice Iasi posted a net profit of RON 21 million (EUR 4.9 million) in the first nine months of the year, up 33.9 percent on the same period of last year. The company, which is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (symbol ATB), grew its turnover by 12.3 percent during this period, to EUR 41.4 million. The company exported EUR 8.9 million of drugs in the first nine months of the year, up 51 percent on the same period last year. Among the most exported drugs was Nistatina, which was mainly exported in Russia and Asia. The company was sitting on a EUR 26.5 million debt at the end of September and had to collect EUR 42.9 million from debtors. Antibiotice Iasi's capitalization on the Bucharest Stock Exchange is of EUR 61 million (November 15). editor@romania-insider.com
