Amazon reveals Kindle Fire tablet computer, half the size & price of rival iPad

Amazon, the largest online retailer worldwide, has recently revealed its Kindle Fire tablet computer, a rival to Apple's iPad. Amazon's tablet will sell for USD 199, less than half of Apple's iPad price. Amazon's new device is smaller – 7 inch display and runs on Google's Android platform. It will be released on November 15 and buyers can already pre-order the device. Amazon also introduced a touch-screen version of its e-reader, to be called Kindle Touch and sold for USD 99. Kindle Fire will also include a cloud-accelerated web browser called Amazon Silk. Just like Kindle e-readers, Kindle Fire offers free storage for all the Amazon digital content in the Amazon Cloud. Amazon.com, Inc., a Fortune 500 company based in Seattle, opened on the World Wide Web in July 1995, founded by Jeff Bezos. The company introduced the Kindle e-reader in 2007, and this year it started to sell more digital books for the Kindle device than hard cover books.
