Air Serbia and low-cost airline easyJet to start operating flights at Romania’s Otopeni Airport

Air Serbia, the Serbian national air carrier and low-cost airline easyJet will operate flights at Romania’s Henri Coanda-Otopeni Airport starting this year. Air Serbia will operate flights on the Bucharest-Belgrade route, while easyJet will run flights between Otopeni Airport and London. “We had talks with several airlines. Starting this year, Air Serbia and easyJet will operate on the Otopeni Airport. We are also in talks with a company from Ukraine,” said Cornel Poterasu, deputy general manager of the airport, quoted by local business publication Ziarul Financiar. Otopeni Airport counted 3.5 million passengers in the first half of this year, slightly up over the same period in 2012. Some of the airlines currently operating on the Otopeni Airport are Tarom, Blue Air, British Airways, Air France KLM, and Wizz Air. Irina Popescu, irina.popescu@romania-insider.com
