Luxury brand Louis Vuitton, present on the local market with both retail and manufacturing activities, is among the 500 largest Romanian exporters.

Louis Vuitton owns Romanian manufacturer Somarest, which comes 499th in the biggest exporters' ranking, according to data released by the National Statistics Institute (INS) for the first ten months of 2014.

INS representatives don’t specify the value of exports but, according to Ziarul Financiar data, Somarest exports its whole production.

The company manufactures bags components for Louis Vuitton at Cisnadie and Avrig.
