A festival of films awarded by ecumenical juries of international events is happening in Bucharest, while the Brâncuși exhibition in Timișoara is approaching its final week.

Filmikon
January 18 – January 25
Filmikon, the international festival of films awarded by ecumenical juries, holds its first edition in Bucharest at Elvire Popesco Cinema, Union Cinema and St Iosif Cathedral. The program includes a selection of films awarded over the years by ecumenical and inter-faith juries at film festivals all over the world, including the Cannes or Berlin ones. All screenings will be followed by talks having theologians representing various Christian faiths, psychologists and personalities of the cultural world. Wim Wenders’s Perfect Days, the 2023 winner of the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the Cannes festival, will open the event. More on the program here.
George Enescu Philharmonic concerts

Michal Nesterowicz conducts the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert featuring a program of works by Johannes Brahms and Felix Mendelssohn. Latvian violinist Kristine Balanas is the soloist. More details here.
Great painters in the Prado Museum – film screenings
Until February 23
The National Museum of Art of Romania (MNAR) hosts this series of documentary screenings about important Spanish artist or who had a connection with Spain. On January 19, Rubens: el espectáculo de la vida, directed by Miguel Ángel Trujillo, is scheduled. Access is based on the ticket to the exhibition Benito Román: The Prodigious Decade. The Living Constitution. The documentaries are screened with English and Romanian subtitles. More here.
